Allengra is joining Hydrogen Europe

As Europe works toward climate neutrality by 2050, hydrogen is becoming a key solution for decarbonising industry, transport, and energy. Hydrogen Europe, the leading European hydrogen association, brings together over 600 members from 40+ regions to drive the adoption of hydrogen technologies across the continent.

Hydrogen Europe

Hydrogen Europe plays a central role in shaping Europe’s hydrogen future. Its mission is to enable clean hydrogen to become a reliable and widely used energy carrier, supporting the transition to a net-zero economy.

The organization acts as:

  • A policy advocate, supporting EU strategies like the European Green Deal

  • A platform for collaboration, connecting companies, SMEs, and public authorities

  • A driver of innovation, promoting research, investment, and large-scale deployment

Hydrogen in Practice

A strong example of how hydrogen is being applied in practice is the MiNaMi project (Million Nautical Mile Fuel Cell System), funded through the EU’s Horizon Europe programme.

The project targets maritime transport, one of the hardest sectors to decarbonize. As batteries are not suitable for large ships, hydrogen offers a more scalable solution.

MiNaMi is developing a megawatt-scale hydrogen fuel cell system that is powerful, durable, and capable of operating over one million nautical miles. Its modular design also allows use in other sectors, such as heavy industry and energy storage.

The project brings together a strong European consortium coordinated by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, with partners from across Europe, including Allengra.

Allengra

Specialized in hydrogen-related components and technologies, we play a role in:

  • Delivering hydrogen and humidity sensor solutions to improve system efficiency and operational lifetime

  • Supporting the optimization of architectures and electrolyser systems

  • Maximizing hydrogen utilization while minimizing hydrogen emissions

What Hydrogen Europe means to us

Our membership in Hydrogen Europe connects us to the broader European hydrogen ecosystem, supporting knowledge exchange and collaboration with key stakeholders. It also helps us stay aligned with EU priorities while strengthening our expertise and opening opportunities to engage in future European projects.

Why this matters for Europe and not only?

Hydrogen is key for decarbonising hard-to-electrify sectors like heavy industry, aviation, and long-distance transport. It enables long-term energy storage, boosts energy independence and reduces reliance on fossil fuels.

With the EU aiming to produce 10 million tonnes of renewable hydrogen by 2030, collaboration between organizations like Hydrogen Europe and companies like ours is essential.
