Four packed days at the Mostra Convegno in Milano lie behind us. For me it is everytime a joy to connect with so many people we are already working with. A beautiful exchange of ideas and innovations that drive our market. The HVAC & cooling market is deeply connected to Allengra. It was the first industry of operation for our Ultrasonic Flowmeters almost 20 years ago. Even more impressive it is to see how well established we are in the market, at the same time however many more applications lay ahead for us to be explored.
Data Center Cooling is here to stay
The main driver of this trade show edition was not the innovations per se. It is rather the shift of focus on other domains. In this editions case it is cleary Data center Cooling.
This is definitely a domain that we feel comfortable in. The demand for high flow rates, peak reliability levels, low corrosion – all these factors play into Allengra’s offered technology.
I observe many approaches into the cooling market, many players giving their best to get the biggest piece of the cake – and yes, it is a huuge cake. But the number one rule for this game is: Speed & reaction time. In a double sense: For the flow measurement, as well as for any development work. Coming up with good flow & control solutions fast is key.
Heat Pumps dominate
Cleary technology and energy independence is market prevalent
R290 safety stays the topic in this domain. The ALSONIC product line covers the main needs for high end heat pumps: Gas bubble detection – be it air or R290. A safety feature solution is imminent for any heat pump manufacturer. Ultrasonic flow metering technology confirms that it is the go-to technology in bubble detection. Other measurement principles simply are physically not suitable.
For glycol concentration measurement the same holds true. ALSONIC calculates besides the flow velocity also the speed of sound. The speed of sound is part of the indication of the glycol mixture. Enabling automated output of the glycol-corrected flow value. A simple & plug and play solution.
Conclusion
This years Mostra was not about novelties. It was about reconnecting and strengthening the bond and already existing know-how – and still there is a lot of integration work to be done.
We thank all our partners for the great collaboration and look forward to the next meetings!
For us the next stop is the Sensor + Test in Nürnberg, Germany in June.
